As an Assembly Manager at VYNCKE, my job revolves around our team of dedicated Vynckeneers in production. I help organize our team and guide them from the beginning where we start out with raw materials. From there, we aim for seamless communication and efficiency. Improvements are crucial, so together with the team, I strive to make impactful changes that are visibly beneficial to our manufacturing process. Of course we need an exceptional team spirit to achieve that, with everyone ready to assist each other at any step.

I often feel a lot of fire in and for my job, seeing our people committed to perfecting their tasks. Every day brings new opportunities to innovate and excel beyond the standard. And that’s exactly what we do at VYNCKE. We embrace the challenge of timely project completion and workshop management. At VYNCKE, the sky’s the limit, and we are continually discovering new ways to bring our fire to life.

“In my 10 years at VYNCKE, my job title hasn’t changed, but the nature of my work has evolved significantly.”

When I first came on board, our customer service was reactive. We waited for problems to arise and then dealt with them. That’s not how things work anymore. These days, we’re all about prevention and planning. This shift required us to rethink our approach entirely, something I was given a lot of autonomy and responsibility for. As a result, we’ve grown from a small team of four to a robust department of 25, and I’ve transitioned from doing the groundwork to partly coaching others to implement the systems we’ve developed. It’s a great example of working at VYNCKE: you constantly evolve, learn to think critically, and get to take initiative.

What I love most about my job is that no two days are the same. Both in the projects that I have and the places where I work. On average I travel for about three months a year in total, with trips to Europe, Thailand, and project sites from our customers. This balance between office work and travel is ideal for me, as it prevents monotony and allows me to experience different cultures and work environments. Since joining VYNCKE, I’ve experienced significant growth, both professionally and personally. Here you can take on opportunities to grow without having to climb the corporate ladder, which I like. I don’t have any ambition of becoming a manager, for example, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t specialize in different areas. Many of my colleagues have held multiple roles within the company and have brought their unique experiences into each new position.

Customer Service Field Engineer

“As a Customer Service Field Engineer, it's my job to ensure our clients' boilers are running smoothly, no matter where in the world that takes me.”

My work at VYNCKE is far from your typical office job. Much of my time is spent on the road. I lead teams of technicians to tackle and troubleshoot maintenance issues on-site. From troubleshooting a bent tile in Italy to ensuring a boiler is operational by the end of the week, the satisfaction of solving a problem and seeing the immediate impact of our work is amazing. It’s also perfect for someone like me, fresh out of university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a love for adventure. The travel aspect of this job was a huge draw and it did not disappoint. I get to see new places and work with lots of people, all while doing meaningful work. Even with my intense travelling schedule, it’s still possible to balance private and professional time. I’m always home on the weekends and during the week – when I’m on-site – I can work late to make sure that the issue is resolved by Friday.

I have the flexibility to work from home two days a week, which allows me to spend more time with my family, pursue my passion for sports, and avoid the daily commute.

I’ve had many different roles at VYNCKE. This stems from a constant urge to grow and to take on new challenges. Which is something VYNCKE has always accepted and supported. After starting in sales, I got the chance to follow-up on some of our projects in project implementation. This helped me understand our projects better, which led me to roles across design engineering and project management. I even spent time in R&D, but realized my passion was in being closer to our projects. Eventually, this path took me to Malaysia to build a local sales team there and now I’m back in Belgium as the Sales Director for our team here. “Never a dull moment” is an understatement. I’m actually getting ready to leave for London as we speak!
